“Launching a project is very fulfilling, but it is very hard work. As long as it is something that you are passionate about and can identify with, you can make it work.”

Uncle Sal has triggered a hippie revival. A combination of his two biggest passions, art, and tech, entering the NFT space in 2020 was literally a dream come true for Uncle Sal. Believing in destiny, he dove head-first, learning as much about the NFT space as he could from Twitter and Discord.

Yearning to found a collection that resonated with him, Uncle Sal started brainstorming ideas. Upon evaluating his own values and passions, one thing was clear: the collection had to encompass peace, love, kindness, and technology. Originally considering the name ‘Digital Hippies,’ a eureka moment led to the birth of Dippies, a fun, vibrant community that combines hippy reminiscence with the essence of web3.

With Uncle Sal’s leadership and Taylor Might’s artistic brilliance, the Dippies collection has grown exponentially, with a total trade volume of 10,000 ETH.

The almost-psychedelic Dippie collection boasts 19 different Dippie ‘base types.’ The human avatar is by far the most prevalent, with Zombie, Leaf, Tree, Robot, and Alien being among the rarest.

Is there one Dippie that outshines all the others? According to Rarity Sniper’s rankings, Dippie #8321 is the rarest in the collection, selling for an astounding 22.22 ETH just a week after being minted.

Agility is paramount to the degree of web3 longevity he seeks. Thankfully, Uncle Sal is innately agile, easily adapting to most situations. He wears many hats as a founder: leader, creator, and collaborator.

Strong, supportive communities are the heartbeat of the NFT space. “From the time I entered the space, the importance of community was obvious,” Uncle Sal says. “Personally, I have built a TikTok community around my content in the past, but

an NFT community is very different. It was a huge learning curve with many lessons learned.”

What words of encouragement does Uncle Sal have for other creatives wanting to launch a collection? He says: “Launching a project is very fulfilling, but it is very hard work. As long as it is something that you are passionate about and can identify with, you can make it work.”
