THE SKY’S THE LIMIT
“Immersing themself in glitch art, Sky found a home in the Glitch Artists Collective, learning and creating prior to officially entering the NFT space, via Tezos, in May 2021.”
Sky Goodman is a trailblazing poet, performer, and digital artist known for their psychedelic imagery. Art has been a life-long endeavor for Sky, who grew up surrounded by creativity. Their artistic expressions bring bold art to the blockchain – making it an ever-richer world. A Nineties child, they found themself besotted with comic books, which resulted in them creating poster-sized, abstract watercolor comic strips which ended up being displayed in Budapest at their first-ever solo exhibition.
Sky’s journey as an artist rapidly changed direction during the final match of the 2014 FIFA Football World Cup when their Mac computer glitched out, leaving the screen looking like an incredible watercolor painting in beautiful pixelated hues. Immersing themself in glitch art, Sky found a home in the Glitch Artists Collective, learning and creating prior to officially entering the NFT space, via Tezos, in May 2021.
Their current collection consists of striking glitchy pieces bearing mind-bending titles, such as ‘Night Sky by the Frevzskin Ledge,’ ‘Noise Dreams in the Early Morning,’ and ‘Analog Bois in Love.’ One of Sky’s journey highlights is a collaboration with fellow creative, ex_mortal. The project, ‘Dream Logs,’ is a beautiful amalgamation of visuals, music, and spoken poetry. Due to the mammoth size of the video, Sky resorted to carving out tiny nuggets from each track and minting them.
In addition to creating art, Sky has also amassed a collection of more than 2,000 NFTs in the two years they have been in the space.
AI has been a controversial topic for quite some time, with some artists and collectors embracing it while others are, for the time being, still vehemently against it. Sky believes AI is a great tool that can help creatives with ideation. Sky is, however, wary of people who lean on it too heavily. They share: “I haven’t gone as deep into AI as some people have, but I do play around with it. I actually created a little collection on Tezos called ‘The Lost Sneakers’ using AI.”
Growing up in New York before moving to Chicago, Sky also worked as a VJ for underground raves and live music shows in the Windy City. We can’t wait to see what they create and mint next!
