THE DUALITY PROJECT
“Sadboi has spent a decade developing his artistic style. After taking some detours, he is now finally in a space where he can pursue his passion unhindered.”
Growing up, Sadboi has always had a keen interest in art. He creates hand-drawn digital art that bravely explores the subject of duality: life versus death, good versus evil. Using minimalistic colors, his arresting work depicts mythical and historical elements as observed by a modern-day artist.
His artistic aptitude landed him in college, pursuing a degree in illustration. Somewhat changing direction along the way, Sadboi had been working in a bar for a decade by the time the COVID-19 pandemic brought the hospitality industry to a painful halt.
In between boosting his social media presence and promoting his art to try and land a few gigs, Sadboi endeavored to learn as much about the NFT space as possible. While pottering around with crypto a few years prior, he was blissfully unaware that non-fungible tokens even existed.
Taking the plunge on encouragement of fellow artists, his genesis drop, ‘The Wrestlers,’ landed on Objkt in November 2021. Since then, he has released multiple pieces, each one as forcible as its predecessor.
How big is Sadboi on collecting? He shares: “I haven’t plowed a lot of my income back into the community yet. I have mainly just acquired some Tezos. It is something I would really like to do once I am established as an artist. Supporting other artists is very important to me.”
Is he using AI as a creative tool? Sadboi says: “I am not opposed to AI at all, but I don’t know if I will personally ever use it. I have a very specific workflow that I have become accustomed to, and it works very well for me. I know that what I set my mind to, I can do. At some point in the future, I might want to change things up a bit, but for now, I am content with my own abilities.”
