BRINGING WOMEN’S RIGHTS TO THE FOREFRONT

Roya Ghassemi, better known as R0yart in the NFT community, is an artist who’s made a name for herself in the web3 space through her stunning and thought-provoking art. She captures the essence of woman and brings to the forefront the issue of woman’s rights in a beautiful and impactful way.
Growing up under an oppressive regime in Iran, r0yart found solace in art and soon realized that her art could be a powerful tool for activism. She says, “Growing up under such an oppressive regime is what spurred me to become a women’s rights activist. My art represents strong women and highlights my personal journey of healing since leaving Iran behind.”
R0yart draws inspiration from various artists, from the classics like Gustav Klimt, Picasso, and Salvador Dali, to modern-day artists like James Jean. She says, “I find that I take certain elemental ideas from each of their styles and, through the filter of my unique style, exhibit the emotions, concepts, and ideals present in their works in a way that is my own.”
It was in early 2021 when r0yart was introduced to NFTs by fellow artists. She recognized that this was much more than just a new way to sell art – she was drawn in by the community and the breaking down of gatekeeping barriers. “This zeitgeist would open the doors to nothing less than the modern-day renaissance of art. I fell in love and have never looked back!”
One of r0yart’s defining projects was when she was selected as a World of Women (WoW) collaborative artist for their sixth season art drops. During this time, she gained a much larger collector base and established herself as a prominent voice in the women’s rights movement and a source of inspiration for oppressed people worldwide. She says, “I love everything WoW stands for and couldn’t have been more blessed than to have become aligned with their company and purpose in such a unique and innovative web3 way.”
R0yart’s experience with collectors in the web3 space has been incredible. She says, “I interact with so many friends that I would never have been connected to, and this has transformed our lives in ways we couldn’t have imagined. I can live anywhere in the world (with an internet connection), and as long as I have my iPad and phone I can be successful and live the life of my dreams!”
