“FREEDOM is what I like best about the NFT space.”
“I can do what I want, when I want. No limits!” That is PeterArt18, a digital abstract artist from Ukraine. With a background in engineering, Peter never considered himself an artist. His journey into the NFT space began in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. What he found was a newfound love for digital art and the limitless freedom that comes with the NFT space.
“I came into the NFT world in April 2021 when Covid destroyed my small business. I was absolutely devastated,” he explains. “I needed a job, which I didn’t have at the time. I needed to connect with people, which wasn’t enough at the time.”
It wasn’t just the financial benefits that drew PeterArt18 to the space. It was the sense of freedom that came with it. “FREEDOM is what I like best about the NFT space,” he says. “It’s what I’ve been striving for all my life. I can do what I want, when I want. But, of course, the results depend on it.”
This freedom has allowed PeterArt18 to create a body of work that reflects his thoughts, feelings, and dreams. He sees the future of the NFT space as a place where artists can freely express themselves and share their unique perspectives with the world. “I get to tell a lot of people how I see the world, what I think and dream about,” he explains.
Influenced by the great abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky, PeterArt18 creates vibrant and abstract works of digital art that exude a sense of energy and freedom. His love for the NFT space stems from its ability to give artists the freedom to express themselves without limits, a freedom that is not often found in the traditional art world.
For PeterArt18, being an NFT artist also comes with a sense of responsibility. “Accountability to people is very important,” he explains. “You can’t sell a few NFTs and walk away because a bear market has come. It’s not fair to the people who believed in the artist.”
To other artists looking to get into the NFT space, Peter emphasizes the importance of understanding that it is not an easy or fast path to success but a journey toward freedom and self-actualization. Through his work, he continues to spread a message of hope and freedom, inspiring others to embrace the power of NFTs as a tool for creative expression.
