“Babylon is bringing NFTs to people with more social connections in the virtual world than in the real world.”

P Azuro has a background rooted in the betting industry. Once he’d found his feet in crypto, gone onto Discord, bought a Bored Ape, and discovered generative art, he was ready to do his own thing.

That turned out to be Azuro, a B2B solution for running a betting operator on-chain and a protocol for decentralized betting. Putting his betting expertise together with his growing interest in NFT art, he began to conceptualize a product where people could buy editions that would also work as raffle tickets and try to win expensive NFTs they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. So, with a focus on affordability, he came up with Babylon and, together with @otherworld_xx, has created a platform for people who cannot afford expensive art but still want to collect top artists.

Babylon curates and takes care of its artists. “The artists are the influencers, and if we can get more artists on board and align their interest with Babylon, then we can become the place for editions.”

Babylon’s founding artist event was a unique way of bringing around 30 artists at different stages of their careers on as shareholders by holding a one-time sale, with at least half of the proceeds going to the platform’s treasury and 10% of the equity of Babylon going to put the event on. “We are raising funds from the artists, but the purpose is not the funds. If someone wants to be part of Babylon, they have to sacrifice something, and then we know that they are an artist we want on our platform.”

Babylon is bringing NFTs to people with more social connections in the virtual world than in the real world. “They don’t need traditional; they need digital art.” And we bet that Babylon will be there to give it to them at a price they can afford.
