Max Kulchinsky

MASTER OF EXHIBITIONS

“I am here to bring more attention and care to art in the crypto space. I think this is so important, and it is the driving force behind the culture. In the end, it is all about the art, the people who create it, and the friends we made along the way.”

Max Kulchinsky is rightfully held in high esteem in NFT circles. His story is powerful. Like many other creators, Max’s NFT odyssey started during lockdown. He began collecting and selling his art for the first time, which led to a dream of curating an IRL cryptoart exhibition.

That dream first became a reality in July 2021. Max curated one of NYC’s first NFT exhibitions, ‘METAPHYSICAL,’ which featured one physical and digital artwork by celebrated artists, including Max, Sean Williams, Sophie Sturdevant, mew.psd, Noah Kocher, Blackksneakers, Squibs, Soulo Saint, and Bobbi Cai. This show led to a large-scale exhibition around Art Basel Miami 2021 called ‘For The TL,’ which featured over 50 artists of different backgrounds and disciplines. TL spiraled into an artist collective, popping up at various crypto and art events around the US and internationally.

Web3 completely transformed Max’s life. He quit his day job in the music industry to focus solely on art. “I first started selling my art as NFTs over a year ago and have been absolutely blown away by the support from friends and complete strangers. I am here to bring more attention and care to art in the crypto space,” he shares. “I think this is so important, and it is the driving force behind the culture. In the end, it is all about the art, the people who create it, and the friends we made along the way.”

Like many of his peers, Max doesn’t think AI will imperil art as we know it: “The most interesting thing about AI art is that it can be a very useful tool. It can be utilized as an aid instead of being leaned on as a medium.” Since the summer of 2022, Max has been working on an AI-inspired physical painting series called Feedback Loops. The first painting, ‘We’re All Adults Here,’ was collected for 3 ETH., and he is working to exhibit the full series sometime IRL soon.

Living in Brooklyn, Max lists painting and DJing as two of his favorite things. He spoke at NFT.NYC 2022 and NFT.LONDON 2022, his artwork was displayed in Times Square and on advertisements around NYC for ZORA for NFT.NYC 2022, and has gone on to curate and collaborate on exhibitions, events, and more with Web3 brands, including Friends With Benefits, NiftyGateway, ZORA, Blockparty.
