RESHAPING FEMALE ESSENCE IN WEB3
“I thought to myself, ‘This is the moment I was waiting for all my life: I could be an artist, not just be a designer.”
Lisa Odette is a 3d artist, illustrator, and animator living in Madrid, Spain. She is passionate about composition and colors and brings a unique visual voice to all the imagery in her artwork.
Art is ingrained in her DNA: her parents are from Romania and were artists. She learned her artistic skills from watching and imitating her parents: “I’ve been interested in creating and drawing forever!”
She took her passion to the next level in 2010, studying graphic design, graduated, and worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, and motion designer. She felt her personal creative expression was neglected, and she started to draw for personal pleasure. It was then that her artistic style was forged. “I think it’s important to have a signature style because when people ask you to draw for them, they will ask you to draw what you like instead of what they like,” Lisa shares.
As with many creatives in the NFT space, the COVID-19 pandemic provided the opportunity for change. “I thought to myself, ‘This is the moment I was waiting for all my life: I could be an artist, not just be a designer.” As they say, the rest is history.
Her art explores the female essence through shapes and colors. These artworks were born for web3 and blockchain.
As with her digital art tools, Lisa’s art is constantly evolving. She says she often keeps the colors and shapes similar, but the art is slightly different every time. In her creative process, Lisa finds that sketching is helpful before making it 3d designs. “I put it into this 3d software, and you can extrude the vector. You can then turn those vectorial shapes into 3d shapes. After that, I sculpt on them to make them look more organic.” She makes it sound so simple.
Her art is anything but simple: it is fascinating!
