TINY FAMILIARS, BIG TALENT

“One of the most important lessons I have learned is never to underestimate the importance of establishing connections.”

Jose Canizaresis is the creator of sensorial 3D designs. Coming from a traditional art background, Jose was especially inspired by Bernini and Michelangelo growing up. As a digital artist, however, he now draws inspiration from the likes of Wei Wang, Pablo Muñoz, Frank Frazetta, and Paul Dainton.

Jose entered the NFT space at the start of 2021 after reading a headline about it on one of his feeds. Being curious by nature, he made a point of learning as much about it as he possibly could. Recognizing NFTs as the start of digital media being considered as real art, he soon became fully immersed in the space.

He met Chiara Moreni, a 2d artist, while working on one of his first projects as a 3d modeler, and they have been working together ever since. In 2021 they started working on their genesis NFT project titled ‘Tiny Familiars,’ which dropped in January 2022. They have constantly added new ‘familiars’ to the series and started selling 3d-printed miniatures from their NFTs. The latest ‘Tiny Familiars’ addition, ‘Tiny Owls,’ was added to the collection at the end of March 2023.

Jose is not just a creator of NFTs but a collector as well. Although he only boasts approximately 35 pieces in his collection to date, he consciously aims to support hardworking emerging artists.

There are many lessons to be learned in the NFT space. Did Jose gain any significant insight over the past two years? He says: “One of the most important lessons I have learned is never to underestimate the importance of establishing connections. It is also vital for an artist to be open about what he is working on and showing it to the world, and to persevere at all costs even when giving up seems like an easier option.”

Originally from Spain but now based in London, Jose studied towards a Fine Arts Degree in Madrid. When he isn’t busy creating wondrous works of art, he enjoys playing video games such as World of Warcraft, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Fable.
