EXPLORING THE ARTISTIC DEPTHS OF NFT ARTIST

“Just make the work that you want to make, do the work that makes you feel something, and if you’re proud of it, that’s all that matters.”

Jake Andrew, an NFT artist from Norwich, UK, has significantly impacted the web3 space since he joined in December 2020. His works, a mix of physical painting and digital art, are a testament to his artistic versatility and the meditative side of his practice, which he attributes to his time spent in nature.

“Being able to get out into the wilderness and paint on the beach has helped guide the meditative side of my practice,” Jake says. With traditional painting influences ranging from Mark Rothko to Cy Twombly and digital influences like Nam June Paik and Jack Kaido, it’s no surprise that Jake Andrew’s artworks are a beautiful blend of the traditional and the cutting-edge.

Jake’s work in the NFT space has been nothing short of remarkable. He has been a part of NFT Liverpool and performed live paintings during NFT NYC. He has also been selected as a TIMEpieces artist and for the upcoming Deepak Chopra project ‘The Seven Collection. He reflects: “Working with all of these people (who are now some of my closest friends) is a dream come true!”

As a collector, Jake collects art that makes him feel something, and he finds the personal connection with artists to be one of the most special aspects of the web3 space. “Being able to chat directly with people and converse about work on a deeper level, knowing it’s going to be in their collection feels really different. It’s what sets the space apart from the traditional fine art world, where us artists are sometimes hidden away from the people investing in our work.”

Jake is a unique and talented NFT artist whose works are a testament to his versatility and passion for creating art that resonates with him and his collectors. He believes in the importance of letting his work resonate with him before putting it out into the world. Jake says, “As much as you want to share absolutely everything you create straight away, don’t. This space moves very quickly; allow yourself to sit with the work and spend time with it, FEEL it before you put it out into the world. We’ll all still be here waiting.

“Just make the work that you want to make, do the work that makes you feel something, and if you’re proud of it, that’s all that matters.”
