METAVERSAL MEDICINE

“I never know what I’m looking for until I see it, but in this small village, I’ve found friends, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.”

The French have always pushed philosophical and intellectual boundaries. So, it is no surprise that the nation is forging a new wave of AI.

Charlesai is a third-year medical resident who’s impacted the NFT community. He shares his remarkable journey to NFTs in the spring of 2021: “I started my first residency rotation in an Emergency Department in a medical desert during COVID-19; the workload was enormous. It got to the point where I fell into a semi-depressive state. That’s the original purpose of my art: to free myself intellectually and spiritually. That’s why most of my early pieces are colorful landscapes, expressing my need to escape that reality.”

Since he started in 2021 he had the opportunity to exhibit his work worldwide (Paris, Milan, Rome, Miami…), got into superrare, and worked with Cozomo to create his ai villa. He also co-organised the first European ai art exhibition and participated in the first physical NFT auction in France.

As remarkable as his entry into NFTs is his creative process. “I usually spend days thinking about new ideas and mentally picturing how I would express them artistically,” Charles shares. “Once I have an exact idea of what I want, I reflect on how I would get there with my prompts. Once I found how I would be making it, only then I would start working on my computer. Then it’s hours or days of trial and error and hundreds or sometimes thousands of outputs before I reach my expressive goal. Once I’ve found the composition I’m looking for, I then iterate and curate until I have exactly what I want. I won’t settle for less. I also never use post edits such as Photoshop. My non-collaborative work is 100% AI art (Midjourney, Dalle, Runway) as I feel brushing away the glitches takes away the beauty of this medium.”

What Charles loves about NFT art is the feeling that it is a small village where everyone shares the same values, ideals, and passion for art and culture. “I never know what I’m looking for until I see it, but in this small village, I’ve found friends, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.”
