Ben Strauss developed a keen interest in photography while he was still knee-high to a grasshopper. Tirelessly honing his skills for many years paid off, earning him features from the likes of Earthpix, National Geographic, Discovery, and Canon USA.

While his signature style may not be quite what you expect from a seasoned landscape photographer, his efforts to portray real-world, 3D experiences in a two-dimensional format are nothing short of bewitching.

After rejecting several opportunities to dabble in cryptocurrency in his early twenties (due to its somewhat nefarious reputation at the time), Ben finally took the plunge nearly a decade later. His genesis piece, ‘Stormbreaker,’ dropped in March 2021, and he has not looked back since.

Traversing the vast Web3 landscape, Ben co-founded one of the leading-edge web3 innovation studios, Transient Labs. It is known for pushing the boundaries and expectations in the NFT space, unlocking the potential of blockchain and smart contract technology for creators, projects, and web3 ecosystems around the world. The company has already worked with the likes of TIME, ThankYouX, Dave Krugman, Bryan Brinkman, SuperRare, Luis Ponce, diewiththemostlikes, and many others.

On his artistic development, Ben shares: “Well, I think for the longest time it was just straight static JPEGs of my style, of some of my best photographs. Then I started playing with dynamic artwork and HTML JavaScript. I really started diving into living artwork as a genre, like artwork that reacts to environmental changes, data sets, and user interaction.”

In addition to being a celebrated artist, the Colorado native also boasts college degrees in jazz performance and mechanical engineering. He counts Ryan Dyar, Nick Page, Daniel Corden, and Max Rive among his most significant artistic influences.
