Another Sigma is swiftly making a name for himself as an abstract artist, curator, and community leader. While he was growing up, Sigma was always surrounded by art, thanks to his dad being an avid collector. Although he has no formal training, Sigma found solace in creating art and draws inspiration from renowned abstractionists, such as Kandinsky, Atanasio Soldati, and several of his peers.
Sigma ventured into the NFT space in September 2021 and released his genesis drop on OpenSea shortly afterward. It wasn’t long before he was minting on Foundation and Known Origin too.
Sigma’s signature style is simple yet alluring. Originally using pencil on paper, he now creates his digital designs with the aid of an iPad and only two software programs. Due to the abstract nature of his designs, his creative process is relatively unstructured – as is his unbridled, vivid creativity, which has become the hallmark of his artworks.
A one-man team, Sigma not only creates all his artwork by himself but also takes care of marketing and public relations. He often analyses the strategies of other artists and tries to adapt relevant components to his own strategy.
He has formed strong bonds with several of his collectors. He shares: “I like talking to my collectors, forming relationships with them. One collector even traveled from another country to come and meet me. I thought that was really nice. These are really wonderful connections to have.”
He also holds collaborations in high regard and believes these are pivotal to the overall success and growth of the space. He says: “I have probably done more than 50 collabs already, and they were all successful. I like to work with other artists because there is always something new to learn.”
Born in Venezuela and now residing in Spain, Sigma does not label himself a collector even though he buys NFTs. He simply sees it as supporting the community that has been so supportive of him.
