DEATH, SEX AND PSYCHEDELICS
“ART IS PERSONAL. IN MANY CASES, IT IS A SELF-REFLECTION OF THE ARTIST. AND COMMENTARY ON A MOMENT IN TIME. FOR ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR ALIENQUEEN, HER NFT ARTWORKS ARE AN UNCENSORED AND UNADULTERATED EXPRESSION OF HER CREATIVITY, SENSE OF HUMOR, DREAMS AND EXPERIENCES. IT IS HER FREEDOM.“
At no other time has this lifelong artist been totally free to express herself than right now in the NFT space.
“Web3 and the NFT space have helped me become who I am today; I can be myself in this space,” she shares. “I felt insecure and judged before, but in the NFT space, I’m able to connect with like-minded people who appreciate my art and me.”
And her art is mesmerizing and captivating, with deep layers of substance beyond the bright colors and vibrancy.
ALIENQUEEN is a prolific artist and is massively popular in the NFT space. Her motto – Death, Sex & Psychedelics – resonates with her collectors and many thousands of NFT artists and degens.
Her background gives an essential window into her creativity: her family fled the Cambodian ‘Killing Fields’ genocide in the 1980s and settled in the United States. She was surrounded by survivors’ tales of the killings and violence of her native country. As a child, she was always drawing characters and cartoons. In her teens, she experimented with psychedelics and weed, unleashing an untapped reserve of her creativity.
She’s dabbled in crypto since 2017 and learned about NFTs in 2018 – but her life just didn’t allow her to pursue that avenue then. After college and working in 3d animation, ALIENQUEEN turned to freelance art to channel her overactive creativity. As a popular fine art painter, she produced 6-foot paintings for collectors in Silicon Valley and commercial works for large corporations.
When news broke of Grimes’ first NFT selling for millions of dollars, she recognized her opportunity to join the NFT space. She minted her first image – and it went viral.
ALIENQUEEN came home to her tribe, her people. And, we – the NFT space – embrace her art, spirit and creativity. Death, sex and psychedelics!”
